Junior Sports Afternoon

Junior children arrived at the Oval Athletics Stadium in Bebington, with the excitement and anticipation of their Junior Sports Afternoon, supported by the Avalon PTA. For some, it was the first time that they had ever visited an athletics stadium and participated in such an event. All the children competed in their House teams and showed great determination, perseverance and above all else, great team work and sportsmanship.

It was a closely fought challenge, with the winning team, St. Andrew, only narrowly edging ahead by three points, to take the lead and win the House Trophy over St. Patrick. House Captains are pictured above, lifting the trophy, when their proud moment was announced.

Thank you to all the parents, friends and families who joined us to cheer all the children on and especially to those parents who volunteered to help with scoring and judging results. Well done to all the staff team for their organisation of the event, in particular Mrs Kililiku and Mrs Rigby.
