Year 5 and 6 debating club

The Year 5 and 6 debating club has been running for a few weeks now. The children have been extremely enthusiastic learning how to take part in a debate and have worked as a team preparing and delivering speeches either for the Proposition or for the Opposition. The children have also taken turns to be the Chairperson and have enjoyed calling "Order Order!"

Topics already covered include "This house believes that primary school children should not be given any homework" and "This house believes that the voting age should be reduced to 16."

The next motion for debate will be "This house believes that school uniform should be abolished."

Following an invitation by the Mayor, members of the debating club are very much looking forward to holding a debate in the Chambers at Wallasey Town Hall in the New Year.
