Down on the Farm with Year 4

Year 4 have been deepening their understanding of animal life cycles and characteristics at Tam O'Shanter Urban Farm.

Our Year 4 class  had the exciting opportunity to visit Tam O’Shanter Urban Farm, and what an amazing morning it was! The children had a fantastic time exploring and learning about various animals, from ponies to chickens, and even some adorable rabbits and guinea pigs. The trip was not only enjoyable but also helped us deepen our understanding of animal life cycles and characteristics.

The children were brilliantly behaved throughout the day, showing respect for the animals and following instructions carefully. They were eager to answer questions and share their thoughts, and it was clear that they were absorbing new information at every turn.

By the end of the trip, every child had gained a wealth of knowledge about the different stages in an animal's life and the unique traits that help them survive. It was a wonderful hands-on experience that brought our classroom learning to life.
